Modernize a medical device for sensitive procedures
Existing Intact biopsy device
Current device used simple sheet metal construction while feeling outdated and sterile. The indicator LEDs could be hard to see while lacking any other feedback for the user.
Initial Concepts
The new designs had a softer and less intimidating feel in order to limit stress to the patient during the procedure. A color display on the front gives the physician real time feedback for the procedure. Concept 4 was chosen for its rounded form, mimicking the elliptical shape of the biopsy sample.
